The Kansas City, Missouri Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is hosting its 47th Annual Freedom Fund Luncheon “All In For Justice and Equality” on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Westin Crown Center Hotel, One Pershing Road, Kansas City, Missouri. The luncheon will begin with a social hour and silent auction at 11:00 a.m. and the luncheon will start at 12:00 p.m.

This year’s keynote speaker is Cynthia Butler-McIntyre, 24th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and member of the NAACP National Board of Directors.  Ms. Butler-McIntyre is a lifelong educator who currently serves as a Director of Human Resources for the Jefferson Parish Public School System in Harvey, La. She has impacted the lives of countless young people and young adults for over 30 years as a teacher, assistant principal, summer school principal and personnel administrator in her school district. Her professional experience also includes her service as executive director of Tech-Prep Summer Program at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, La. She has also worked as the assistant coordinator of field experiences and College of Education supervisor for early childhood student teaching experiences for the University of New Orleans. As you are aware education is in a state of crisis throughout the state of Missouri and throughout our country and we know that Ms. Butler-McIntyre will deliver an unforgettable address. 

The luncheon raise funds for the Kansas City, Missouri NAACP Branch to implement effective local and national NAACP civil rights programs with focus in the areas of civic engagement, economic sustainability, education, health, public safety, criminal justice and youth work /youth scholarships.
