The Black Archives of Mid-America presents "The Soul of Art" Pop Up Gallery Series
This wonderful event launches the inception of the arts as a part of our new programming at the Black Archives of Mid America. Partnering with BAIA for our premier allows Kansas City access to some of the most exciting works by African American artists in the country. The intent is to promote contributions of the African American arts community as well as cultivate education to audiences through exhibition and discussion. This event is free to the public.

Friday, 11/7/14 -- Opening Reception (5:30 PM - 8:30 PM)

Saturday, 11/8/14 -- Discussion and Workshop (10:30 AM and 1:30 PM) 
(Art work on exhibit and for purchase from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM)

Sunday, 11/9/14 (show hours with art work on exhibit and for purchase from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM)

The Black Art In America™ (BAIA) Contemporary and Fine Art Show is an experience bringing BAIA member art, exhibition and arts discussions to the Greater Kansas City area. Master and contemporary works by such artists as:John Biggers, Louis Delsarte, Najee Dorsey, Frank Frazier, Cora Marshall, Charly Palmer, Deborah Shedrick, Charlotte Riley Webb, and others would be featured. 

Black Art In America™ is also partnering with the David C. DriskeIl Center to include in this exhibit a group of limited edition prints from the David C. Driskell Print Series comprised of work by prominent African American artists in support of the David C. Driskell Center's efforts to cultivate the next generation of artists of color.

SATURDAY WORKSHPS

10:30 AM: State Of The Arts -- A dialogue on wrapping your head around the art world -- where do you fit in? Also, a workshop on using the Black Art In America™ (BAIA) online network.

1:30 PM: The New Outsider Is In -- the arts market shifts in favor of the 'new outsider' -- a dialog on who will be instrumental in creating new works for the arts market and what you need to know about creating and collecting African-American art today.
