This is a play at the Coterie Theater, 2450 Grand Avenue (Crown Center) Suite 144, Kansas City, MO 64108. It is about Anthony Burns who escaped slavery. Despite a fierce defense at trial, he was returned to his Southern master.

This powerful case helped create the party that propelled Lincoln to the White House. In a unique twist at the end of the play, theatre-goers participate as 1858 Massachusetts State Senators to discuss themes brought up by the play.

Tickets are $15. Please email Arts and Letters (artsandletters@dstkcmo.org) if you are interested in purchasing tickets.

This a family event so children are welcome.
