The spirit of Independence, freedom and pride returns to Kansas City June 2017 with the Official Kansas City Juneteenth Community Heritage Festival in the Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District on Saturday, June 17th and OFFICIALLY throughout the ENTIRE MONTH OF JUNE due to our amazing partnerships!!!

Show Me Riders KC is excited to return for another year to host Tiny Town which will feature FREE pony rides and an interactive petting zoo for children of all ages!!
 
Rays Awareness-Shane Ray (KC native former Mizzou standout and NFL Player) will be officially launching his FIRST FREE  FOOTBALL CAMP as an OFFICIAL JUNETEENTHKC CELEBRATORY SPECIAL ACTIVITY SATURDAY, JUNE 17th!!
AND!!!!! ......Providing FREE TRANSPORTATION FOR UP TO 100 participants from the 18th & Vine District to the Camp Training site including A FREE BBQ for campers at 3:00 pm within the festival grounds!!!!

KC Parks & Recreation will be hosting a registration booth to sign up youth within the urban core for FREE SUMMER swim lessons to promote the importance of youth swim safety preparedness education in addition to remembering the tragic loss of Horace Peterson III, founder of the Black Archives of Mid-America Inc/Negro Leagues Baseball Museum/American Jazz Museum who drowned in 1992 and advocating for the continued awareness of the disparity of swim education in the African American urban communities.
 
The Nelson Atikins of Museum of Art invites children of all ages to stop by their coloring station to enjoy a piece created by Michael Tombs that depicts KC notable community activists and the overall progression and the African American-Missourian story of the pursuit of freedom.
