Chillin’ and Grillin’ are in order when the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) hosts the 2017 Heart of America Hot Dog Festival, presented by Hy-Vee, Farmland and Pepsi. The event features live entertainment, food, and more. The festival will include headline concert performances by legendary funk band ZAPP along with R&B legends AFTER 7 and BLOODSTONE.

Created by the NLBM in 2013, the Hot Dog Festival celebrates the historical connection between our national pastime and baseball fan’s favorite ballpark food: the hot dog. Proceeds benefit the NLBM.

Joining the food line up for 2017, along with the “Monarch Dog” is the “El Maestro” (the Master), in tribute to Cuban Negro Leagues baseball legend Martin Dihigo. The new sandwich features a Farmland Boulevard bratwurst served on a bun with pico de gallo, chorizo chili, queso fresco, and tortilla chip garnish.
