The Golden Royalties Chapter of the American Business Women's Association presents the "25th" Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Education and Scholarship Event on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 5-8pm. The location will be at the Faith Deliverance COGIC Family Worship Center, Banquet Hall, 3043 State Ave. Kansas City, Kansas 66102. Ticket Donation: $30.00. 

Every year, the Golden Royalties Chapter hosts an annual educational and scholarship event honoring the life and legacy of the late Dr. King; while at the same time collect monies to aid deserving women to go to college. The Golden Royalties Chapter is a not-for-profit organzation supporting the efforts of women in the greater Kansas City community. 

The mission of the American Business Women's Association is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.

The highlight of this event the Golden Royalties Chapter will be presenting the 2018 MLK Honors of "Keeping the Dream Alive" Awards.The focus of these honors is to recognize and applaude indivduals in the greater Kansas City community who is keepong the DREAM alive. The special recognition awards will include such categories as: community service, humanitarian, education, medicine/healthcare, religion, music, entrepreneurship and sports. The call for nominations will include men and women of all ethnic backgrounds who live in the greater Kansas City community. We welcome you nominations.

To particiate, please the format that is on the nomination ballot and complete your submission. All completed submissions must be typewritten or printed and they must be on a separate one-page word document to include a recent photo at the top of the page. You may then forward the completed nomination form with the completed nomination ballot form with it electronically as a word document and email all forms by Friday, September 1, 2017 to collinsc7@ aol.com or submit your completed nomination ballot package by US Mail and mail it to: ABWA Golden Royalties Chapter, ATTN: Nominations for the 2018 MLK Honors Award". P.O. Box 414705, Kansas City, MO 64141-4705. The deadline for all submissions is September 1st (postmarked). Any forms received late will be disqualified.

Please make sure questions 1-4 are answered completely on the nomination ballot form.

We are currently in the planning process for our crowning glory. Once all the program participants and entertainment is finalized a flyer will be coming out shortly announcing the event. This will be an elegant evening with a dinner buffet program, live entertainment, speakers, Commentator, Mistress of Ceremonies, silent auction, 50/50 raffle drawing, door prizes, networking along with the 2018 MLK Honors, "Keeping the Dream Alive Awards."  Please save the date.
