The African American community lives by the idea that the children are the future, however, if the African American community does not begin to understand James Baldwin's quote, that education is indoctrination if you're white, subjugation if you're Black, African American children will not have a bright future and will continue to engage in the same educational counter-productive behaviors as their predecessors.
