Sam Rivers

Sam Rivers is a member of Da Truth Band, a Kansas-City based music group.

LeShea Wright

Singing since age 3 LeShea cultivated her gift in church, school, and in her community.  She garnered her professional start at Qualityhill Playhouse in Christmas in Song in 2006 and continues to be a regular with the Playhouse and is booked up until the 2021 Season.  She has solidified her presence in the Jazz community appearing with Kansas City Jazz Orchestra in 2007. She’s also had the opportunity to lend her voice for background vocals for recording artist E. Jason Sims, Trace Adkins, Janelle Monae, and Chrisette Michele. She’s also been an Anthem singer for the Kansas City Royals since 2008! LeShea has starred as Deena Jones in the KCKCC production of Dreamgirls which earned her an opportunity to audition for the Irene Ryan Scholarship! She had a chance to reprise that role with the newly developed Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City in 2016. She is also adept in gospel and lends her voice as a soprano in two choirs, Isaac Cates and Ordained, and also with Grammy nominated, Stellar award winner Cortez Vaughn and Worship Culture! She was recently given the honor of being named as Kansas City People’s Choice Awards: Best Female Singer!

Da Truth Band

Da Truth Band has been performing together in the Greater Metropolitan area for 10 years.  Started by Anthony Harvey, keyboardist and MD for the band, he envisioned a group not only performing popular music, but be versatile enough to play any genre of music that will allow them to play any venue in the city.  Comprised of Keys, Drums, Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, and Vocals, Da Truth has become a fixture in the Kansas City live music scene. Regularly making appearances in the Jazz District at venues such as The Bayou on the Vine, KC Juke house, The Blue Room, The Fat Fish Blue Bar and Grill, Qudos Cigar Bar, Mingles Nightclub, the Beaumont Club, The Epicurean, Power and Light District on the main Stage, Isle of Capri, and Jerry’s Bait Shop, just to name a few. 

They have solidified their spot in the Kansas City music scene as one of the highly sought after Live bands.  Da Truth has also had the privilege to be the backing band for national recording artist such as Grand Hustle artist The Govenor, Maybach Music artist Teedra Moses, Lakeside and Mark Wood, Three time Grammy Nominee Eric Roberson, Kevin McCall,  Lolah Brown, and has had the opportunity to open for such artist as the legendary R&B group Lo-Key, Julian Vaughn, Raheem Devaughn, and Marsha Ambrosius. The band has taken their show on the road to cities such as; St. Louis, New York, Houston, Omaha, and Atlanta to name a few.
