The National Congress of Black Women, Inc. - Kansas City Chapter (NCBW-KC) will host its 8th Anniversary Scholarship & Awards Brunch, Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 11:00AM - 2:00PM.  The event will take place at the Grand Street Café, 4740 Grand Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64112.  This year’s theme is, Honoring Exemplary Women: “A Tribute To Women Who Inspire Us To Pay It Forward”.  We are honored to have Senator Barbara Anne Washington as our keynote speaker, and CEO of Lively Paradox, Dr. Nicole Price as the opening speaker.  Our Mistress of Ceremonies will be, Executive Director of Kauffman Scholars, Tanesha Ford. Guests will enjoy phenomenal speakers, delectable dishes, and an inspiring awards ceremony. The attire is business casual.  Parking is free. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased at www.ncbwkansascity.org or eventbrite.com. 

The scholarship and awards brunch will also honor public servants, professionals, and community members for their dedicated service.  The chapter will honor Metropolitan Community College Chancellor, Dr. Kimberly Beatty with the Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm “Greater Good” Award for Public Service. Guests will enjoy phenomenal speakers, delectable dishes, and an inspiring awards ceremony. 

This is the 8th year the Kansas City Chapter has awarded scholarships to students in the Greater Kansas City area.  Educational scholarships are awarded to deserving students from under-served communities, and are offered to both high-school students going to college, and working adults returning to school to continue their education.
