Mentor Me is a call to action for Black men to make a commitment to mentor and support Black boys. RSVP at: Mentor-Me.eventbrite.com "It's easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." Federick Douglass, 1818-1895 Now more than ever, the development of Black boys and young men is critical to the health and wellness of our nation. Mentors play an important role in their success. There are a number of barriers preventing some Black males from achieving optimal success in their education, health, social emotional learning, careers, financial literacy and more. Personal circumstances and societal challenges create the urgency to rally Black men to get involved at earlier stages of their lives. Join Our Health Matters as we raise awareness about the value and benefits resulting when Black men mentor. Featured guest speaker, Louis Negrón, Sr., Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta delivers the keynote address. Also attending are members of the Kansas City chapter of 100 Black Men and members of Black fraternities and more. |
