Dollars and Sense Investment Challenge

Join The 100 and the Beta Lambda Alphas. It’s the culminating event for our Dollars and Sense program.  Join us as our high school students pitch case studies to compete for awards and prizes, including a chance to attend our 100 Black Men of America national convention.  FREE Entry. • Five high school students will compete live before a panel of judges and a community audience to solve a financial literacy case study and demonstrate their knowledge of the principles of wealth creation. Three will win an all-expense-paid trip to represent the 100 Black Men of Greater Kansas City chapter at the 100 Black Men of America’s National Conference June 4-8, 2025, in New Orleans, LA.

• Following a six-week simulated stock market competition during which students received $100,000 virtual dollars to invest, 1st (500), 2nd ($300), and 3rd ($200) place winners will be announced based on which students generated the highest return on their portfolio.

• Three financial literacy essay contest winners will be named. 1st ($1,000), 2nd ($500), and 3rd ($250) place cash prizes will be awarded.
