About our Organization

Established in 1943; the George Washington Carver Birthplace Association (CBA) is a non-profit organization established to assist in advancing the historical, scientific, educational and interpretive programs of the National Park Service at the George Washington Carver National Monument, and to promote the legacy of Dr. George Washington Carver.

About the Event

The annual event is called: Concert for a Cause and will be held on Saturday, November 8th at the Music Theater Heritage located in Crown Center.  This year’s artist will be the incomparable Marqueal Jordan.  Marqueal is a billboard charting saxophonist and vocalist, and a former member of Brian Culbertson's touring band.  In addition, he has collaborated/performed with: Jonathan Butler, The Isley Brothers, Eric Darius, Faith Evans, Jill Scott, Rick Braun, Najee, Kirk Whalum, Oleta Adams, Peabo Bryson and many more artist.

The concert is a fundraising event that celebrates our mission to promote opportunities for high school students and the legacy of Dr. George Washington Carver.

Dr. Carver’s quote “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.” This is why one of our initiatives is to provide annual scholarships to high school seniors who are continuing their education at a college or university majoring in Agriculture, Art, Education, Music, or Science and we stay engaged in their educational journey.
